“NGOptics” continues the investigation into the precision glass moulding of sharp, diffractive structures with the use of tungsten carbide and silicon tools
Next Generation in Glass Optics
The key will be the mold manufacturing, where mechanical as well as beam manufacturing technologies will be investigated on different materials.
Manufacturing tests on tungsten carbide and silicon indicate the feasibility of sharp, diffractive structures. The replication of these structures has as well been demonstrated.
The next steps will be to investigate the possibilities and the limits of these technologies.
