The goal is to maximize the lifetime of the molding tools in order to guarantee the economic viability of the technology.

The central component of this technology is the development of a new test stand that allows the quick evaluation of the coating quality and lifetime under reality-modeling conditions. The results from this test bench will then be correlated using traditional coating qualification methods.

In order to preserve the resulting knowledge and support possible future developments of new coating systems, the results will be organized in a technology database.

“SpeedCoat” will facilitate the choice of a high-quality coating that is customized to each individual mold material and glass type combination.
