Production for Micro – Research Areas
The pan-European Production4µ consortium combines the efforts of about 20 key companies and leading research institutions with expertise in the production, development and end use of µ-products.
The new century will be a µ-century where customers will demand advanced, high added-value products with features that can only be realised through the use of µ-technologies. The Production4µ project aims at significantly enhancing the competitiveness of the European µ-industry.
The project is divided into three main research clusters (Cluster A, B and C) supported by “Demonstration”, “Training” and “Dissemination”. Cluster A, which deals with “Reliable Manufacturing Technologies”, consists of work packages “Precision Tooling” and “Replication Technology for High Volume Production”. The topic of Cluster B is “Automated Process Chains”, it integrates work packages “Handling and Alignment” as well as “Process Integrated Quality Assurance”. Third Cluster C is about “Production Planning” and “Launch and Quality Management”.
